What Is Breathwork?
Breathwork is a somatic therapy that improves mental, physical, and spiritual well-being. It is remarkably effective at moving "stuck" energy in the body, and for reaching deep emotions that can be difficult to access through talk therapy alone.
Breathwork can be experienced as a standalone therapy or a wonderful support to ongoing individual therapy, if you are already working with a therapist. A breathwork session consists of a powerful, guided active meditation. For more on what occurs during a session, please see below.
What Is a Breathwork Session?
Breathwork consists of a two-part breathing technique beginning in the belly and moving into the chest, inhaling and exhaling through the mouth. While in a session, you will likely experience strong memories and emotion. It is normal in breathwork to feel great joy, sadness, anger, and in the end, a profound sense of release (the catharsis).

Throughout the session, you are supported and guided as we shift any stagnant or stuck energy. This is my role as a facilitator — to create support and space for you to return to yourself. Breathwork is a powerful way to cleanse the energy-body. This cleansing makes room for new, authentic experiences, and increases the sense of peace, hope, and inspiration in your life.

Breathwork Because It Works
Over 20 years, I have practiced and experienced many therapeutic modalities. I turn to breathwork because it truly transforms. Breathwork has the unique ability to address many issues at their core — our disconnection from our own vitality. This vitality is soulful, emotional, and physical. It is our existential essence. When we touch this vitality, our challenges begin to shift and become resolved as they are reframed.
Reframing is not about denial - it’s not about telling ourselves comforting lies. Rather, it’s about remembering and claiming our authentic power to navigate and embrace our lives. This power exists within us all now, waiting to be brought again to consciousness.
In my experience over two decades of receiving, learning and practicing therapy, I have found breathwork the most effective tool at restoring this vitality. It does not require endless hours of talk therapy nor pharmacology, though it can complement these well. Breathwork invite you back to yourself, and your life.

Jenise Russo
From an early age, Jenise's curiosity drew her toward the delicate connections of mind, body, & spirit. This curiosity eventually led her to discover the profound impact breathwork can have on human well-being. Recognizing the potential in this ancient practice, Jenise went on to train under David Elliot and learn his two-stage Pranayama breathwork meditation. Along with this training, she incorporates her knowledge of several other therapeutic modalities, primarily Reiki and Theta Healing, which she folds into each of her sessions.
As a breathwork facilitator and intuitive healer, Jenise creates a safe and sacred space for individuals to experience their inner landscapes, and experience their own innate wisdom. With her gentle guidance and empathy, she helps her clients access their innermost authentic selves, facilitating deeply transformative experiences.
